Abstract

Analysis of the death resulting from a deep sedation administered by a non-anesthetist physician who was convicted after a trial for manslaughter. A discussion is made of the potential impact of the adoption of the recently published recommendations for sedation by non-anesthetists, developed by the Sociedad Colombiana de Anestesiologia y Reanimación (S.C.A.R.E.) along with other scientific societies.
