Abstract

Medication errors are the cause of severe lesions and complications, particularly with regards to injectable medications.

During anesthesia, several drugs are administered simultaneously and quite easily the wrong medication may be administered, leading to morbidity and mortality. Different strategies have been devised to reduce error, including the use of color and letters to facilitate the identification of the various medications and improving safety in anesthesia.
